What makes you feel most wildly alive?

That’s often the first thing I ask new clients. Because, well, I want to know. Is it a midcentury modern in the forest? A vintage craftsman in the thrum of Northeast Los Angeles? A surf shack down a canyon lane?

This is where we begin, because it’s also the end: I help California’s creatives buy & sell rare, earthy properties. I do this not just because they’re cool places to rest your head at night. But because I believe we should all live in dwellings we feel wildly alive in. To that end, I’m an agent at Reichling / Pickard: a close-knit Los Angeles real estate team with over $1B in sales.

Coming of age in Marin County — a sylvan, artist's enclave north of San Francisco — was not only hippie-environmentalist bootcamp, but fostered in me a deep love of organic design.

I grew up in the cradle of the redwoods, learning early on that composting is mandatory and A-frames are cooler. Soon, I took these granola sensibilities to the world of architecture. During the pandemic, an early partnership with one of the Bay's most creative agents, Logan Link, was pivotal in developing my editorial approach to real estate acquisition and investment.

In the years since, I ventured south to obtain a Bachelors in Marketing from UCLA and promptly joined Reichling / Pickard at Compass, ranked the #3 team in Los Angeles, and in the top 100 nationally. I also created a digital real estate brand on social media, with an audience of 200,000+ and reaching millions every month.

A blissful amalgamation of cabins deep in the redwoods and soulful midcentury gems, with glimpses of how I live slowly, it's a deeply authentic map of the soul. Team listings receive unparalleled exposure, along with the houses I see & sell. Additionally, I’m open online about being queer+trans, and love connecting with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community.

As friendly as I am honest, I was once described by a close friend as “a lighthouse of genuine spirit.” When working with me, you’ll enjoy having a creative, determined, and down-to-earth agent. I excel at getting buyers into escrow on special properties, and have been intimately involved in the preparation & sale of veritable masterpieces.

Keen as I am on working with those seeking single-family, I’m an outright nerd for investment. So much so that in 2025, I bought my own: a c. 1968 midcentury triplex in the beating heart of Silver Lake. As an owner-user in the markets I serve, I’m uniquely able to advise my investor clients in LA+CA who are seeking quality, architectural properties. There’s magic in buying & holding these kinds of assets over the long-term, and no greater joy then helping my clients make it happen.

Some kind press callouts in recent years…I was featured in Architectural Digest’s Clever vertical on the topic of wood left original (which, as you’ll read, I’m vehemently for). A listing of mine (3645 3rd Avenue) was featured in the New York Times, and another in Dwell Magazine (10412 Hebron Lane). Previously, I have been profiled by Bed Threads as a resident expert on midcentury modernism, and team listings have received press in Robb Report, Sunset Magazine, and AD.

Outside of work, I love hanging out at Canyon Coffee in Echo Park, visiting my family in the forests of NorCal, or otherwise fantasizing about moving to a 1970s cabin in the woods.

Sam
